The »bidding war« ended at GBP 15,000.00 (€ 19,057.67), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Girolamo Gianni have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 186,676.87).

Die Arbeit Valletta Harbour, Malta von Girolamo Gianni wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist and Spanish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 19.057,67) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Girolamo Gianni auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 163.250,00 (€ 186.676,87).
