Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2009 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art & Orientalist Art, which included the work The entrance to the Grand Harbour from Ricasoli point, Valetta by Girolamo Gianni. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,221.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Girolamo Gianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 186,676.87).
