Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2015 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work Stormy Waters In The Grand Harbour, Valetta by Girolamo Gianni. The price achieved of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,463.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Girolamo Gianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 186,676.87).

Im September 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stormy Waters In The Grand Harbour, Valetta von Girolamo Gianni zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 8.463,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Girolamo Gianni erzielen.
