Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2005 Christies in London held the auction IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work Portrait of the Artist, as Mars by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The price achieved of GBP 176,000.00 (€ 255,454.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Other works by Gian Lorenzo Bernini have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2013 the work Christ Mocked was auctioned for USD 398,500.00 (€ 304,686.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the Artist, as Mars von Gian Lorenzo Bernini zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 176.000,00 (€ 255.454,15) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Gian Lorenzo Bernini konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Februar 2013 die Arbeit Christ Mocked für USD 398.500,00 (€ 304.686,90) versteigert.
