Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2008 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art, which included the work Travellers before the Acropolis by Giovanni Lanza. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,125.00 (€ 4,189.20). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Lanza - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Parthenon, Athens, With Men In The Foreground Dressed In Oriental Costumes; And The Temple Of Olympian Zeus With The Acropolis In The Background, Athens, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,857.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Nineteenth Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Travellers before the Acropolis von Giovanni Lanza zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.125,00 (€ 4.189,20) einen neuen Besitzer.
