Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self-portrait, the head seen almost in profile by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri was sold in the Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 504,000.00 (€ 449,518.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Francesco Barbieri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work King David in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,193,250.00 (€ 6,244,298.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self-portrait, the head seen almost in profile von Giovanni Francesco Barbieri wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 504.000,00 (€ 449.518,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Francesco Barbieri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit King David im Juli 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.193.250,00 (€ 6.244.298,00).
