In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries, which included the work The Baptism of Christ by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,970.00 (€ 10,676.06), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Tiepolo Family in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 2,837,000.00 (€ 4,021,913.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Works on Paper from Five Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Baptism of Christ von Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.970,00 (€ 10.676,06) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Tiepolo Family im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.837.000,00 (€ 4.021.913,13).
