Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The Battle of Issus and the Family of Darius before Alexander - a cassone front by Giovanni di ser Giovanni Guidi was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 260,187.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Giovanni di ser Giovanni Guidi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Story of Coriolanus: a cassone front in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 1,562,500.00 (€ 1,365,582.94).

Die Arbeit The Battle of Issus and the Family of Darius before Alexander - a cassone front von Giovanni di ser Giovanni Guidi kam im Dezember 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
