Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Sacra Conversazione: The Madonna And Child With Saints Francis And Andrew by Giovanni di Niccolò Mansueti was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 39,650.00 (€ 50,503.44). Other works by Giovanni di Niccolò Mansueti have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2008 by the work The Supper at Emmaus, en grisaille at GBP 49,250.00 (€ 62,572.68).
