In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Picture Sale - British and Continental oils,, which included the work Olive groves in Northern Italy by Giovanni Colacicchi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,740.59), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Colacicchi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amazzoni ferite, which sold at auction in May 2002 for EUR 4,464.00.

Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Sunday Picture Sale - British and Continental oils, durch, in der auch die Arbeit Olive groves in Northern Italy von Giovanni Colacicchi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.740,59) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Colacicchi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amazzoni ferite beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für EUR 4.464,00 versteigert wurde.
