In January 2009 Christies in New York held the auction The Scholars Eye: Property from the Julius Held Collection Part I, which included the work Lorenzo de Medici, after Michelangelo by Giovanni Battista Naldini. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,345.67), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Naldini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Holy Family With The Young Saint John The Baptist in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 217,037.04).
