Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work The Battle Of The Centaurs And The Lapiths by Giovanni Battista Franco for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,764.42). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,500.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Franco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deux Études De Squelettes in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 250,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Battle Of The Centaurs And The Lapiths von Giovanni Battista Franco für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.764,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master Drawings bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.500,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Franco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deux Études De Squelettes im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 250.000,00.
