The work Jupiter and Ganymede by Giovanni Battista Franco was sold in the Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2012. The result of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,737.31) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Franco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deux Études De Squelettes in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 250,000.00.

Die Arbeit Jupiter and Ganymede von Giovanni Battista Franco wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.737,31) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Franco erzielen.
