In January 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Two male nudes seen from the front and side, with a subsidiary study of the head of the complete figure (recto); A seated male nude leaning on a table (verso) by Giovanni Battista Franco. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,250.00 (€ 75,273.30), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Franco - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deux Études De Squelettes, which sold at auction in March 2021 for EUR 250,000.00.

Im Januar 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two male nudes seen from the front and side, with a subsidiary study of the head of the complete figure (recto); A seated male nude leaning on a table (verso) von Giovanni Battista Franco zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 81.250,00 (€ 75.273,30) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Franco mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Deux Études De Squelettes beobachtet, die im März 2021 für EUR 250.000,00 versteigert wurde.
