This artwork by Giovanni Battista Franco achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Moses drawing Water from the Rock sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,250.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Franco achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Deux Études De Squelettes in March 2021 with an auction result of EUR 250,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 83 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Giovanni Battista Franco erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit Moses drawing Water from the Rock für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.250,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Franco erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Deux Études De Squelettes im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 250.000,00.
