Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2005 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Andrea del, which included the work Study For A Frame Decorated With Laurel And Acanthus Leaves, A Soldier In A Shield In The Lower Section by Giovanni Battista Foggini. The price achieved of GBP 3,600.00 (€ 5,221.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Foggini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bronze Group Of Apollo Flaying Marsyas in January this year with an auction result of USD 882,000.00 (€ 812,304.29).

Im Juli 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Andrea del durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study For A Frame Decorated With Laurel And Acanthus Leaves, A Soldier In A Shield In The Lower Section von Giovanni Battista Foggini zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.600,00 (€ 5.221,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Foggini erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bronze Group Of Apollo Flaying Marsyas im Januar diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 882.000,00 (€ 812.304,29).
