Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2010 Christies in London held the auction Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work The Annunciation; and The Death of the Virgin by Giovanni Battista Castello. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,899.99) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Castello achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Adoration Of The Magi in January 2014 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 74,074.07).

Im Dezember 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Annunciation; and The Death of the Virgin von Giovanni Battista Castello zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.899,99) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giovanni Battista Castello erzielen.
