In January 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Recto: Landscape with figures at the Tomb of Cecilia Metella Verso: Study of Corinthian Columns by Giovanni Battista Busiri for USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,453.65). This price was achieved in the auction From Taddeo to Tiepolo: The Dr. John O’Brien Collection of Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Battista Busiri achieve.
