Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A View Of The Roman Campagna With Abraham And Isaac In The Foreground by Giovanni Battista Busiri. It changed hands for a price of GBP 9,600.00 (€ 14,258.22) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giovanni Battista Busiri - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Six Roman Views: The Colosseum; The Temple Of Vesta At Tivoli; The Waterfalls At Tivoli; The Pyramid Of Caius Cestius; The Temple Of Vesta In Rome; The Tomb Of Caecilia Metella, which sold at auction in December 2014 for GBP 41,250.00 (€ 53,102.43).
