Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Orfeo by Giorgio de Chirico was auctioned at Christies in Sydney in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 63,000.00 (€ 57,755.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giorgio de Chirico achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 15,890,400.00 (€ 13,643,341.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Orfeo von Giorgio de Chirico kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Sydney zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 57.755,78) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giorgio de Chirico erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Il Pomeriggio Di Arianna (Ariadne’S Afternoon) im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.890.400,00 (€ 13.643.341,63).
