Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian, which included the work Travellers Amongst Ruins, A Fantasy Landscape To The Right, Possibly Alluding To Jerusalem by Gillis Neyts. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,171.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gillis Neyts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A landscape with a monumental tree and an amorous couple in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 44,146.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian durch, in der auch die Arbeit Travellers Amongst Ruins, A Fantasy Landscape To The Right, Possibly Alluding To Jerusalem von Gillis Neyts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.171,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gillis Neyts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A landscape with a monumental tree and an amorous couple im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 44.146,00).
