Auction result misses estimated price range
In April last year a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Images by Gilles Peress for USD 756.00 (€ 717.47). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gilles Peress have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Telex Persan -- Telex Iran. Paris: Contrejour, 1984. in May 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,858.19).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Selected Images von Gilles Peress für USD 756,00 (€ 717,47) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gilles Peress auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Telex Persan -- Telex Iran. Paris: Contrejour, 1984. im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.858,19).
