In November 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work British The Departure From The Inn by Gilbert Scott Wright. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 6,808.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Scott Wright - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Over the Fence, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit British The Departure From The Inn von Gilbert Scott Wright zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 6.808,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Gilbert Scott Wright mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Over the Fence beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.715,77) versteigert wurde.
