Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British Over The Fence by Gilbert Scott Wright was sold in the Sporting Art auction at Sothebys in New York in November 2007. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,531.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gilbert Scott Wright - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Over the Fence, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,715.77).
