The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,050.00 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gijsbert Gillisz. de Hondecoeter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Storks, Mallards, Chickens, A Heron, A Frog And Other Birds In A River Landscape in July 2006 with an auction result of GBP 60,000.00 (€ 87,832.97).

Die Arbeit A Rocky Wooded Landscape With Travellers And Their Donkeys On A Path von Gijsbert Gillisz. de Hondecoeter wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Paintings, Drawings and Watercolours bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.050,00 und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gijsbert Gillisz. de Hondecoeter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Storks, Mallards, Chickens, A Heron, A Frog And Other Birds In A River Landscape im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 87.832,97).
