In April 2018 Il Ponte held the auction Photographs, which included the work Ibiscus 1998 by Gian Paolo Barbieri. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,500.00 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gian Paolo Barbieri have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Jill Kennington in Missoni, Port Sudan in June last year with an auction result of EUR 12,600.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2018 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ibiscus 1998 von Gian Paolo Barbieri zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.500,00 und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gian Paolo Barbieri auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Jill Kennington in Missoni, Port Sudan im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 12.600,00.
