Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vue De La Basilique Santa Maria Della Salute, Venise by Giacomo Guardi was sold in the Old Master & XIXth Century Art auction at Artcurial in Paris in November 2020. It changed hands for a price of EUR 39,000.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giacomo Guardi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Venice, A View Of A Regatta On The Grand Canal Looking Towards The Rialto Bridge, With The Palazzo Balbi To The Left, which sold at auction in July 2016 for GBP 125,000.00 (€ 148,527.04).
