This artwork by Giacinto Gigante achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2006. In the 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures auction, the work On the promenade at dusk, Naples sold for GBP 14,400.00 (€ 21,243.04) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Giacinto Gigante have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tramonto a Bacoli in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 86,800.00.

In der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Russian Pictures wurde die Arbeit On the promenade at dusk, Naples für GBP 14.400,00 (€ 21.243,04) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giacinto Gigante auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tramonto a Bacoli im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 86.800,00.
