Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Giorno di festa by Giacinto Gigante was auctioned at Il Ponte in June last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 2,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giacinto Gigante achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tramonto a Bacoli in November 2002 with an auction result of EUR 86,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Giorno di festa von Giacinto Gigante im Juni letzten Jahres bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.800,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Giacinto Gigante erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tramonto a Bacoli im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 86.800,00.
