This artwork by Giacinto Gigante achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2007. In the 19th Century Paintings including Spanish Painting and Symbolism & the Poetic Vision auction, the work Italian Sorrento sold for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 54,470.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giacinto Gigante; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Tramonto a Bacoli sold at auction in November 2002 with the realized price of EUR 86,800.00.

In der Auktion 19th Century Paintings including Spanish Painting and Symbolism & the Poetic Vision wurde die Arbeit Italian Sorrento für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 54.470,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00.
