This artwork by Gherardo Cibo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work Study Of A Mountain Landscape sold for USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,393.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gherardo Cibo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 387,044.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gherardo Cibo erzielte im Januar 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Drawings wurde die Arbeit Study Of A Mountain Landscape für USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.393,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gherardo Cibo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 387.044,83).
