Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Drawings, which included the work Mountainous Landscape With A Hermit Kneeling In Front Of A Cross by Gherardo Cibo. The price achieved of USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,346.94) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gherardo Cibo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 387,044.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mountainous Landscape With A Hermit Kneeling In Front Of A Cross von Gherardo Cibo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.346,94) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gherardo Cibo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 387.044,83).
