Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Rugged Landscape With St. Anthony And A Pig, A Burning Church In The Background by Gherardo Cibo. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,555.56). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gherardo Cibo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 387,044.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rugged Landscape With St. Anthony And A Pig, A Burning Church In The Background von Gherardo Cibo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.555,56) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gherardo Cibo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 387.044,83).
