Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Christies in Paris held the auction Dessins Anciens et du XIXème siècle, which included the work Paysage Rocheux, Une Ville À L'Arrière-Plan Et Un Arbre Sur La Droite by Gherardo Cibo. The price achieved of EUR 6,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gherardo Cibo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A sketchbook with 22 leaves, bound in vellum, containing 24 studies of plants with discourses on their properties and with sketches for decorative elements in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 387,044.83).

Im März 2014 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Dessins Anciens et du XIXème siècle durch, in der auch die Arbeit Paysage Rocheux, Une Ville À L'Arrière-Plan Et Un Arbre Sur La Droite von Gherardo Cibo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 6.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gherardo Cibo erzielen.
