Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Two marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumenifer); and Studies of pelicans and a monkey (Pelecanidae) by Géza Vastagh was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,477.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Géza Vastagh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion and a Lioness in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).

Die Arbeit Two marabou stork (Leptoptilos crumenifer); and Studies of pelicans and a monkey (Pelecanidae) von Géza Vastagh kam im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.477,35) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69).
