Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Christies in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art, which included the work The Lion's Domain by Géza Vastagh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,061.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Géza Vastagh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Lion and a Lioness, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Lion's Domain von Géza Vastagh zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 45.061,28) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69) versteigert wurde.
