In December 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings: Online, which included the work Study of a reclining lion; Two studies of lions by Géza Vastagh. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,841.12), 30% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Géza Vastagh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion and a Lioness in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).

Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings: Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study of a reclining lion; Two studies of lions von Géza Vastagh zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.841,12) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69).
