Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A lioness ready to pounce by Géza Vastagh was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 13,221.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Géza Vastagh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion and a Lioness in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A lioness ready to pounce von Géza Vastagh kam im Juni 2010 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 13.221,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69).
