The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,827.78) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Géza Vastagh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Lion and a Lioness in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 192,000.00 (€ 160,066.69).

Die Arbeit A Lion At Rest von Géza Vastagh wurde im Januar 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.827,78) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Géza Vastagh erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Lion and a Lioness im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 192.000,00 (€ 160.066,69).
