Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Gervase Spencer was sold in the Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons auction at Christies in London in June 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 576.00 (€ 853.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Admittedly, works by Gervase Spencer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1750 in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,632.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Gervase Spencer wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 576,00 (€ 853,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gervase Spencer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Boy, Circa 1750 im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.632,01).
