Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, Including the Collection of George S. Parker II from the Caxambas Foundation, which included the work Head Of A Spanish Peasant by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney. The price achieved of USD 9,375.00 (€ 8,552.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Wallflower, A Portrait of Barbara Whitney' in December 2002 with an auction result of USD 38,240.00 (€ 36,471.15).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.375,00 (€ 8.552,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden.
