This artwork by German Grobe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2002. In the NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction, the work Bomschuiten in the breakers sold for EUR 6,572.50 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by German Grobe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Anchoring the Bomschuit, which sold at auction in October 2006 for EUR 18,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von German Grobe erzielte im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART wurde die Arbeit Bomschuiten in the breakers für EUR 6.572,50 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von German Grobe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für EUR 18.000,00 versteigert wurde.
