In January 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work At work on the beach, Katwijk by German Grobe. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 3,290.00 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by German Grobe have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Anchoring the Bomschuit in October 2006 with an auction result of EUR 18,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2002 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit At work on the beach, Katwijk von German Grobe zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 3.290,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von German Grobe auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Anchoring the Bomschuit im Oktober 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 18.000,00.
