Auction result well in line with expectations
The work French on The Bosphorus by Fabius Brest was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2015. The price achieved of GBP 72,500.00 (€ 99,559.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Fabius Brest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II in October 2005 with an auction result of USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit French on The Bosphorus von Fabius Brest kam im April 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 72.500,00 (€ 99.559,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Fabius Brest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II im Oktober 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 598.400,00 (€ 498.874,53).
