It achieved a price of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 163,717.63), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 68%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Fabius Brest - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 598,400.00 (€ 498,874.53).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 134.500,00 (€ 163.717,63) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 68%. Für andere Arbeiten von Fabius Brest mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Beiram; cérémonie de baise-main à Constantinople, sous le Sultan Mahmoud II beobachtet, die im Oktober 2005 für USD 598.400,00 (€ 498.874,53) versteigert wurde.
