Admittedly, works by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A seated African holding a parasol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 517,769.57).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 106.250,00 (€ 91.045,42) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gerbrand van den Eeckhout auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A seated African holding a parasol im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 410.500,00 (€ 517.769,57).
