Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Portrait of the artist's father, Jan Pietersz van den Eeckhout (1584 - 1652), half-length by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 34,209.09) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A seated African holding a parasol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 517,769.57).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of the artist's father, Jan Pietersz van den Eeckhout (1584 - 1652), half-length von Gerbrand van den Eeckhout zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 34.209,09) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerbrand van den Eeckhout erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A seated African holding a parasol im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 410.500,00 (€ 517.769,57).
