The work Judah and Hira the Adullamite by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2002. It achieved a price of GBP 138,650.00 (€ 221,152.13), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A seated African holding a parasol, which sold at auction in July 2014 for GBP 410,500.00 (€ 517,769.57).

Die Arbeit Judah and Hira the Adullamite von Gerbrand van den Eeckhout kam im Juli 2002 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 138.650,00 (€ 221.152,13) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Für andere Arbeiten von Gerbrand van den Eeckhout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A seated African holding a parasol beobachtet, die im Juli 2014 für GBP 410.500,00 (€ 517.769,57) versteigert wurde.
