Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings, which included the work Jael And Barak With The Corpse of Sisera (Judges 4:12-24) by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout. The price achieved of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,661.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A seated African holding a parasol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 517,769.57).
