Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Daniel Interpreting The Dreams Of Nebuchadnezzar by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout. Here, the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 73,000.00 (€ 49,188.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerbrand van den Eeckhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A seated African holding a parasol in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 410,500.00 (€ 517,769.57).
